@ slay...You say there were only 4 left in their seats at the end of the service, but I dont see you mention how many were there in the beginning....if there were only 5 or 6 to start with then that's not so bad....for all I know you see this may be one of those little congregations of 10 or 20 people or could be a larger one in the hundreds....would you elaborate, please?

You did what God led you to do.BRAVO!!!!!!!! I know for a fact that I have preached more than a few messages that , were not popular and offended some. It is what it is. People don't like to hear about "sin" , usually because it hits too close to home (if you get my drift) as long as you are preaching and teaching by the leading of The Holy Spirit, doing it with love for them and NOT condemnation......you need not worry. Just read your update...
I would seek God's direction through prayer, it might be time for you to move on,or, He may wish you to remain there. Sounds to me like...IF someone DIES during the service,
and someone calls 911, the rescue people may have to carry out MOST of the people to find the one who actually DIED! ( A JOKE B.T.W.!) Sad indeed! unfortunately I feel this same thing is going on in way too many churches!!!!!!!!!

@Alan, If you follow from the start or at least at posting #12 you will see that "Gracelikerain" rain is actually me, Pastorzomok. A few years back the site was updated and somehow some of my posting ended up under someone else's name. How this happened is something I have never understood.

Yes if your preaching conviction, people will not stay around long...My Dad is a preacher, and when we first started out the church was full, but when he started preaching conviction people left...I am so glad that I feel convicted when I have done something wrong...God is trying to correct us, just like a father would a child, but people do not want crrection, they want the tickling of the ear...The Word says though, if you have a ear, hear. People just do not want to hear.....

@ Faithslight: Your Dad, is doing the right thing....Those leaving, are not true Christians...While your Dad is preaching conviction, those people that are leaving the Church, are being convicted, by the Holy Spirit....I'm not perfect, we are all sinners falling short of God's Glory, but I heed to the Holy Spirit....When I Err, the Holy Spirit lets me know.....I, too, am so glad, when I feel conviction, whenever I am wrong....
