My Statement of Faith (creed):
21 May, 2006
I believe in one God, who is eternal, was before time, and shall be after time.
There is no other god except for Him.
His law is holy and unchanging.
His wrath is fearful and deserved.
His will is perfect, his love is eternal.
I believe in Jesus, who is the Messiah: the only begotten Child of God, who was not made, and who was with God before the beginning. Nothing was made apart from him.
When He, the perfect God, was born of the virgin Mary, he became at once fully God and fully human.
He lived a life without any trace of sin.
He was crucified, under the authority of the Jews and Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor.
On the third day after His death, Jesus rose from death, conquering it once and forever.
It is only through belief in this life, death, and resurrection that we are saved.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Giver of Life, who is the promise of Christ’s return.
I believe in the Holy Trinity, that is God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
This trinity is immutable, eternal, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.
I believe in every word of the Bible, which is the divine-inspired Word of God.
There is no other book which is divine-inspired.
Any teaching which is contradictory to the Bible is wrong.
I believe that it is by the gift of God that we are saved, and by no work on our own part.
But a life of grace will hhave works of grace.
I believe in one baptism, as representation of our life in Christ.
I believe in communion, as remembrance of our life in Christ.
I believe in the power of prayer, as our greatest weapon.
I believe that man is inherently a sinful creature, yet has capability (through acceptance of Grace) to become good.
I believe that the world we live in is, along with the rest of the universe, under God’s authority.
However, at the moment, it is under the control of Lucifer, the first of the fallen angels, the original perversion of all that is good.
="What a piece of work is man! How noble in reason! how infinite in faculties! in form and moving, how express and admirable! in action, how like an angel! in apprehension, how like a god! the beauty of the world! the paragon of animals! And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? man delights not me..."
