Today's writing is based on Matthew 16:15-28: (Jesus, asked his disciples, who the people thought he was, when I left often yesterday (verse 14))
He asked them, But who do you say I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and what ever you shall bind on earth, will be bound in heaven: and what ever you shall loose on earth will be loosened in heaven. Then he warned his disciples that they should not tell any one that he was Jesus the Christ.
From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples, how he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again on the third day. Then Peter grabbed him, and began to scold him, saying, Be it far from you, Lord: this will not happen to you. But he turned, and told Peter, You get behind me, Satan: you are offencive to me: for you savour not the things that are of God, but those that are of men.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man comes after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever saves his life will lose it: and whoever loses his life for my sake's will find it. For what does a man profit, if he will gain the whole word, and lose his own soul? or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; then he will reward every an according to his works. I say to you, There will be some standing here, which will not taste death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
