Flipping through the pages I found "example" entry. How are we to be good examples for Christ? How do we glorify Him and cause the praise to overflow to Him? Several Bible passages were used. Here are the findings, of which you are well aware.
Be submissive to authorities for God is the one who allows them to have that authority. If you are that authority, God is the final word on evaluting and judging your work; so don't think you are not accountable to anybody.
Be a good citizen. Obey speed limit, traffic signs, and other motor vehicle laws. Do you speed, run red lights, do things you ought not to do with your car? I think we've all been guilty at one time or another of breaking these laws. Well, God does care. It does make a difference. How you drive reflects on your character and your God.
Be a good citizen. Pay your taxes. Even Jesus told them to render to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's. This also means we need to be honest.
Be a good citizen. Honesty in business would be a part of being a good citizen. Honest scales, weights, and measures. Not taking advantage of people and not cheating them in any way is a big issue. Remeber Amos? He called the rich oppressers fat cows.
These are just a few things that came to my own mind when I read the selected Bible passages. One could write an entire book on how to be a good citizen. Here I will stop.
Whatever we do. Whatever we say. All of it reflects on Christ. We are His hands of love. Because of our words and actions people either get their needs met and people multiply their praises of God, or they are turned off by us and praise is silenced for those people and the people around them.
Today's encouragent is that this is a new day. Start afresh if need be. Find ways to be a good citizen for Christ.
