I have, off and on, debated with those that promote the horrendous traditional view of an eternal burning hell.  I view it as false teaching and without any true merit.  When the scriptures are examined it shows that DEATH is the penalty for sin and this is the true scriptural view from Genesis onward.  Adam was warned that he would die and go back (completely) to the dust from which he was created.  Genesis 2 and 3 makes this clear and it is affirmed by many scriptures...

Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death and the Messiah took that exact penalty....

When I speak with those that promote the "hell" view I almost always find them quoting scriptures that are parables or more symbolic to support their view.  And I am easily able to refute these.  And example is Matthew 25:46.... The word "everlasting" is actually not in the Greek text...
