Within the Text of Deuteronomy 18:9-13 is found a list of occultic practices that the Canaanites were constantly engaging in. These were human sacrifice, various divinations, omens, witchcrafts, magic, and necromancy. Each of these items have modern counterparts and one could argue that the Canaanites are still going strong among us!!! We need to be watchful about these evil practices because the devil is very subtle and young teens are very open to these evil practices.
On the list is "divinations' which is socery and this covers more common occult practices then the others listed. It includes fortune telling, Astrology, and ouiji boards, etc.. and people dabble in these not really understanding these to be doorways for demons to enter their lives. These are seeds of destruction, yet many view these things with humor!!!
There isn't anything funny about oija boards and tarrot cards. Astrology is just plain idolatry for it claims to be givier of prophecy - yet it has nothing to do with God. There is no "playing" with satan that doesn't reap bad reprecussions.
