PRAISE AND PRAYER REPORTS
Shalom !
Just writing a quick note to update you all for prayer.
BUSY WEEK!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had 3 specialists' appointments this past week in the hospital where Ami has been undergoing rehabilitation. The first was at the hearing institute, where he did another hearing test and we learned that there has been no significant improvement in his hearing and the ear drum impairment. He also has an infection in his left ear. The doctor said he would go ahead and schedule an appointment for the first transplant in his right ear, which is more damaged than the left. He said the procedure is with local anesthetic, and Ami would go home the same day but would have to rest for a week. Then it will take 4-6 weeks until we would know if it "took". When we got back into the car, Ami said, "I won't need the operation, they will close up themselves." We said, Amen! May the Lord honor the faith of that statement.
Please continue to pray for his eardrums to be healed.
MORE DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had a follow-up visit with the retina specialist, who said that Ami is seeing 20/20, and there are only a couple of points of metal in his cornea. However, they want to see him again in two weeks, this time it will be with the retina and the cornea specialists!
Please pray for the dissolving of the rest of the metal pieces in his cornea.
We just got back from the foot specialist! He had checked Ami's right foot about 2 months ago, as shrapnel had entered the foot and apparently severed a tendon above his right toe. The toe was hanging down, and at that time the doctor recommended surgery. Today, the toe is almost in line with the other toes, and he's able to lift it up. Praise the Lord! He looked at the left foot and said that we can go ahead with plastic surgery when we want to.
Please pray for total healing of the tendons in the right foot.
Praise and thanksgiving for the healing that has already taken place.
The scar sites are healing well, even at the skin transplant sites, and we thank you for your prayers for a quick work of healing in Ami's body.
He will be starting school this Monday - we thank you for continued prayer for this big step. Ami met with his homeroom teacher this past week as well, and they talked about what his special needs will be in class. He went without me, because all the kids were meeting their new teacher one by one, and he said it would be embarrassing if only he came with his Mommy!!
Ami continues to go to basketball practice when he can, and when he feels he has the strength. We also bought him a WII Nintendo, and it has had a tremendous therapeutic affect on him - he's using his left hand a lot more, holding things in his left hand, and says there has been some relief in the pain level.
Outpatient therapy will God willing, begin the 2nd week of September.
We are also greatly encouraged by the fact that the amazing Waller family are back in Israel for 3 months! For those of you who know them, you know what a blessing they are. For those who don't, they are a family with 11 children who love Yeshua, the land of Israel and her people. They have a specific ministry here to help the farmers of Israel. They are a huge spiritual support in our congregation, and as friends.
On another note, a brother from Ariel, David Wright, who is an elder in Adonai Ro'I, a congregation in Tel Aviv, unfortunately had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago. Thank God he's recovering, and his life was spared. Due to some miscommunication, a message was sent out by someone saying it was David Ortiz who had the heart attack, and we want to assure any of you that received that message - it was a mistake.
Please pray for our brother David Wright to recover completely!
This from Psalm 37:
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret-it leads only to evil.
9 For evil men will be cut off,
but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 But the meek will inherit the land
and enjoy great peace.
Our trust is in the promises of Almighty God.
I pray that you will all be encouraged today, and that the blessing of Yeshua will be a covering over your lives.
You have prayed us through many dark and difficult moments - we are eternally grateful.
In the Messiah, Leah
