JUST WHO IS IN CHARGE?
You may think you have it all under control, that you are king of your domain, well think again. People don’t like it when they are not in control, men know what I mean, we hate asking for directions. We would rather drive hours out of the way that admit we are lost. It’s the same in life, we don’t want to admit we can’t control our lives and that we make all the wrong choices. Isaiah 65:2 All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations. We can’t stand to ask for help, because if we do, we admit we have failed in some way. That is why more often than not we come to God when every other option has failed and we see no other choice. Funny God is always ready to help, not to control us, but to save us, and set us free! Jeremiah 7:23 But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in all the ways I command you, that it may go well with you.
So just who is in charge? God is, He is the maker of heaven and earth. Without him we are nothing. With a word the earth and everything on it and in it was formed, even us. Isaiah 43:24-27 Israel, I am your Lord, I am your source of life, and I have rescued you. I created everything from the sky above to the earth below. I make liars of false prophets and fools of fortunetellers. I take human wisdom and turn it into nonsense. I will make the message of my prophets come true. They are saying, "Jerusalem will be filled with people, and the Lord will rebuild the towns of Judah." I am the one who commands the sea and it’s streams to run dry.
God knew us before we were born, He is always with us, and since He alone created all things, then He alone controls all things. Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Isaiah 46: 3-5 You survivors in Israel, listen to me, the Lord. Since the day you were born, I have carried you along. I will be the same when you are old and grey, and I will take care of you. I created you. I will carry you and always keep you safe. Can anyone compare with me? Is anyone my equal?
Yes, God created us and loves us. He keeps his promises and protects us. He alone is always with us.
Isaiah 55: 6-11 Turn to the Lord! He can still be found. Call out to God! He is near. Give up your crooked ways and your evil thoughts. Return to the Lord your God. He will be merciful and forgive your sins. The Lord says: "My thoughts and my ways are not like yours. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, my thoughts and my ways are higher than yours. Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don’t return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and gain to eat. That is how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do."
Put your life into God’s capable hands, he will make all things right. Trust the life God has given to you, to him. Who better to be in charge of it than the one that made it? God bless, mel
