Love Thy Neighbour – Don’t wake up your neighbor, though he is your friend, early in a loud voice to bless him because it will sound like a curse instead, for Psalms 27:14: says He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.

Love Thy Neighbour – Beware how you treat your neighbor for he may live next to you a long time and God has given this promise in Psalms 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

Love Thy Neighbour – Don’t make fun at or mock your neighbor’s faith or religion for Psalms 79:12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

Love Thy Neighbour – Pay your neighbour or employee what you owe him in wages for tomorrow is not promised and Proverbs 3:28 says Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give: when thou has it by thee.

Love Thy Neighbour – Don’t stay over long at you neighbour’s house and wear out your welcome for Proverb 25:17 says “Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour’s house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. A word to the wise should be sufficient.

Love Thy Neighbor - The “second” commandment instructs us in How To Love God Back and How To Please God. When asked what is the “greatest” commandment of God’s law, Jesus responded, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like unto it: You shall love thy neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)

Love Thy Neighbor - Is it the greatest Love? The answer to the question of What should be our greatest love? We know that we must First love God, above all, and before all else. Our greatest love must be toward God and then toward our neighbor. We show love toward God when we Obey what he says. We should show respect, appreciation, value, and compassion toward our neighbor just as we would want the same respect, appreciation, value and compassion shown to us.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, is referred to by many as the “Golden Rule”.

Love Thy Neighbor - Jesus said “And as you would that men should do to you, do you also to them likewise. (Luke 6:31) Love your neighbor as yourself. This is more than a commandment - It’s A Way Of Life. It’s the Rule that leads to a good life.
