The other day I was talking to to someone who heard one of our songs from my band, and after hearing it he said " cool tunes but im not into the whole Jesus thing - actually I don't believe in that kind of thing.  Then I replied "what kind of thing?" he said "you know the whole religious bit"  Then I told him " Its not a religious thing I just believe in Jesus because He saved us all by bearing our sins on the cross - giving us eternal life if we should believe in Him and that he rose form the dead. "  Turning away he said "I just think we came out of the sea as microscopic life and evolved"  I then told Him "It was God that created the earth and everything in it."  Nah he said. actually it was a big bang that in turn made all the planets and galaxy, not some invisible God it just doesn't sum up.  Besides if no one has seen God how do you or anyone else no he exists."
Then I said " Yes know one has seen God  - but you have to admit that Jesus existed and all that is said about him is true - and consider the earth and human creation, I believe that human life is marvelously and fearfully created by God ". He said" well yea he existed but how do you know he just wasn't just a man - and all this is some fine told story. I mean like come on, walking on water, feeding 1000s with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread,  raising dead people to life, site to the blind,
and making the crippled walk and all that.  Not to mention rising from the dead on the 3rd day - it all sounds to made up, and why do you believe?  I then told him " my faith in Jesus is in my heart and soul - I also said after Jesus was crucified and rose, Thomas one of his disciples even doubted him and said to the other disciples, unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side I will not believe.  Later while they were all together behind locked doors, Jesus appeared before them and said "Peace be with you" and said to Thomas "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side.  Stop doubting and believe" Thomas said to him"My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." JOHN 20: 26-29   So you see it is by faith you will believe, I said.  He then said , that all sounds good but there is no proof and I just cant believe.  I said sighing "the proof is in the life he lead and the Words he spoke.  Jesus loves you as much as I and everyone else and wants you to receive His gift of life - all you must do is believe. 
Later on that week he told me that several people approached him and were offering him scriptures and pamflets to read about being saved. Overwhelmed by this coincidence of speaking to me about Jesus, and then being later approached, he told me that he was reading his bible alone in his room.  "I still say I really don't believe though" he said.  Finally I said to him if this is not the Truth, and something you say doesn't exist, you really are going out of your way to disprove something that does not exist ".   "You got a point there he said smiling, and from that day his faith grew.
