Daddy's Girl

It’s a dark, lonely night
Almost bedtime it seems
But she doesn’t wanna go
Because she knows what it means

He says, ‘Go on little girly’
He touches her skin
‘Daddy will be up shortly…
To tuck you in’

And as she slowly makes her way up the stairs
Her small body begins to tremble ‘cuz she’s so scared
And there are a thousand things racing through her head
With a tear in her eye she crawls into bed

And she lies there
She knows what’s coming
Trapped in the darkness
She feels like running

But then daddy comes in
And daddy walks over
And everything gets darker
As the room grows colder

And there’s no escape
As his hand begins to snake
And she closes her eyes
As her little heart breaks

And she wants her mommy
But mommy is scared
And she hates her daddy
Wonders if mommy cares

But little does she know
That mommy’s aware
But it’s easier to pretend
That the bad things aren’t there

And when daddy crawls into bed that night
He’ll kiss mommy on the cheek and turn out the light
And just like her daughter she’ll feel the fear in her gut
A painful combination of trepidation and disgust

And little girly
She’s still in bed
Body frozen
No thoughts in her head

Just the darkness
And all of the pain
And for mommy’s sake
She hopes that the blood don’t leave a stain
