DEAD RAISED IN JOPLIN, MISSOURI HOSPITAL MORGUE

Dear friends:

Does God still do in modern times what He did in the Bible, or has He changed His mind and decided not to honor His Word, retiring 2,000 years ago, maybe just playing golf every day, as some believe?

The answer, of course, is that He is the same yesterday, today and forever, and He changes not, the Bible says.  He is still even raising the dead!

Yes, I repeat  -- raising the dead!

I have been waiting until I got all the details together, but with my schedule and my memory for names being what they are, that will likely never happen, so I want to relate to you in brief something that happened just last month (Sept. '07) in Joplin Missouri.  It is too great and wonderful to not tell it right now. 
 
There is a Mexican-American church in the town of Noel, Missouri (extreme southwestern corner of the state) that is in continuous revival, 6 nights a week.  The young pastor received a 'phone call to go and pray for a critically ill Hispanic man at a hospital in Joplin, Missouri, about 50 miles away.  When the pastor finally got there the patient was long dead, and the body had been in cold storage in the hospital morgue for two whole days.  The hospital authorities did not know what to do with the body, because the deceased man was from a Central American nation, and had no known family or friends in the USA. 
 
The pastor from Noel asked to be shown the body.  A few minutes later the Mexican-American pastor commanded the man back to life by the power and authority of the name of Jesus right there in the hospital morgue, with hospital personnel observing.  Within a few minutes, the previously dead man coughed, sat up, and asked "What's happening? Where am I?" 
 
The resurrected man is now a member of the pastor's congregation in Noel Missouri.  The pastor was simply obeying the Lord's command (Matthew 10:7-8) to go and raise the dead.
