Title: His Healings 3
Blog Entry: I'm finding just how hard it is, to do this....What I'm finding in Matthew now, could very well be listed in the other gospels, so I've done some searching, and found a listing of the healing's, that show where they are repeated, whew! Here we go now. This is found in Matthew 14:35-36: Jesus landed in Gennesaret the people from that area recognized him, and they sent word throughout the region. Everyone brought to him those who were six. They begged him to let them touch the edge of his clothes. Jesus allowed, for all those who touched his clothes were healed. We see the next healing in Matthew 17:14-20: There was the father of a boy, who was demon possessed. The man knelt before Jesus, saying, "Lord show mercy on my son. His son was epileptic, and suffered. He often fell into fire or the water (river or lake?). The man said, I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn't heal him." Jesus responded, "You faithless, crooked generation, how much longer will I be with you? How long will I have to put up with you? Bring the boy to me." Jesus spoke harshly to the demon, and it came out of the child, who was healed. Later the disciples asked Jesus in private,"Why couldn't we throw out the demon?" Jesus said, "It's because you have little faith." He also said, "I assure you, that if you have faith just the size of a mustard seed, you can say to the mountain, move from here to there,' and it will go. With just that little bit of faith, there will be nothing that you can't do. Next healing is found in Matthew 20:29-34: Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. There were two blind men sitting along side the road, and heard Jesus passing by. When they heard, they shouted, "Show us mercy, Lord, Son of David!" The crowd scolded them, telling them to shut up. They continued to shout even louder, "Show us mercy Lord, Son of David. Jesus stopped and asked them, What do you want me to do? They replied, "Lord, we want to see." Jesus felt compassion for them, and touched their eyes, and....They immediately gained their sight, and followed him. And finally Matthew 21:14: This happened right after Jesus ran through the Temple overturning money tables, cages, and what have you, screaming, "My house will be called a house of prayer, but you've made it into a den of thieves!" After he cleared the temple, people who were blind and lame, came to Jesus, and he healed them. And, when the chief priests and legal experts saw these amazing healing's that were being done, and the children shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" they became angry and asked Jesus, "Do yo hear what these children are saying?" Don't you just love His response? Yes, he replied, "Haven't you ever read, From the mouth of babies and infants you've arranged praise for yourself? And then he left.
